Observations: Dix Hills Park Golf Course

Dix Hills Park is currently in the second year of a scheduled three-year renovation that will improve the conditions of tee boxes, greens and bunkers on the golf course's nine holes.  As of October 2010, a round at Dix Hills Park begins with an approach to a temporary pin at the end of the fairway. 

Flyover: Heartland Golf Park

[This flyover was updated on September 12, 2021.] Purists might object to a number of things about the Heartland Golf Park in Edgewood.  After all, nobody plays nine holes at a "golf park."  Floodlights on a golf course?  Leave that to sports like football and baseball.  Yet there they are, light stanchions for — gasp!

October is aeration month at Bethpage

Four of the five courses at Bethpage State Park will be temporarily closed for aeration during the month of October.  (The Yellow Course was already aerated in August.)
