Just as holiday-outing season ends each year on Thanksgiving, it begins anew every March on or around St. Patrick's Day, and as usual, Mill Pond Golf Course has an Irish-themed scramble on the late-winter schedule.
Mill Pond will hold its annual event the day before St. Patrick's Day on Friday, March 16, complete with Irish food, drinks and prizes. Tee time is 10:00 a.m.
The format is four-person scramble, with prizes awarded to the top three teams as well as winners of closest-to-pin and long-drive contests. Check-in and open range time begins at 9 a.m. After the scramble, a hot Irish buffet and open bar will be available until 4:30. Entry fee is $79 per player.
Mill Pond events typically fill up quickly, so register for the early-season scramble (pre-payment required) by visiting the Medford course or by calling (631) 732-8249. There is no rain date for this year's event — if it's canceled due to inclement weather, all registrants will be issued a full refund.
