Outing season is beginning to heat up, and golfers in all corners of the Island will have their pick of charity events to play as the summer approaches.
Great Rock Golf Club in Wading River is hosting the second annual Integrity Church golf fundraiser on Wednesday, June 6. The outing begins at 11:30, with lunch, dinner and drinks included, plus the opportunity to win raffle prizes like Legends Suite tickets at Yankee Stadium, a Long Island Ducks suite and round-trip airfare. The Massapequa Kiwanis Club will hold its 34th annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 11 at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury. Shotgun tee time is 11 a.m. The $175 entry fee includes breakfast, on-course BBQ lunch and a dinner/cocktail party at The Woodlands (on site). Proceeds help the club continue its promotion of local youth programs, scholarships and other community-service projects. Visit the event website for sign-up details.
And on Monday, June 18, Camp Northstar, an organization that provides athletic, recreational and social experiences for children with developmental disabilities, will hold its 13th annual Golf Open at West Sayville Country Club. Tee time is 2:00 p.m., with BBQ lunch, awards dinner and cocktail hour included. Entry fee is $200 per golfer. Registration info can be found on the outing brochure.
