Crab Meadow is a scenic course that plays over the hills near the Long Island Sound. The eighth hole is a member of Newsday's Dream 18.
It is a relatively short par-5 with out-of-bounds pinching close to the
fairway on both sides, and a pond in front of the green. Dix Hills Park is a good beginner course despite an abundance of trees. Most of its holes play flat or downhill.
