Long Island golf courses are buried under two feet of snow this holiday week, but Golfing Magazine already has its attention focused on the 2010 golf season. The magazine is preparing for its annual Free Golf Program by offering an Early Bird Special on subscriptions. So reward yourself this holiday season for a year of hard work by registering for the program, or give the gift of green fees to the golfer in your life this Christmas. Or this Valentine's Day. Or even St. Patrick's Day. The special runs from now through April 1.
For the Early Bird rate of $39, golfers receive a certificate good for one full round at
each of the participating courses, plus a one-year
subscription (five issues) to Golfing Magazine. All you pay on the day of your round is a cart fee. The 2009 program included nine courses — Harbor Links, Swan Lake, Rock Hill,
Island's End, Great Rock, Brentwood, Holbrook, Dix Hills Park and Gull Haven. Participating courses for the 2010 program will be announced in the spring.
After April 1, the price
for the certificate and subscription is $49. Even at that rate,
the certificate pays for itself after just one round. Subscribers will receive their certificate in April and can use it through the end of 2010.
