Polish your game at the Tallgrass Country Club this summer, where pro Phil Tita and his staff will hold free player-development clinics every Sunday through Labor Day. Each one-hour clinic begins at 2 p.m. and includes a demonstration and mini-lesson. Sessions rotate each week and cover iron play, chipping, putting, woods and sand play.

Golfweek ranked Tallgrass #8 in New York State — ahead of Bethpage Red and Montauk Downs — in its 2010 Best Courses You Can Play listing. The Shoreham course was also named one of Long Island's top public courses by Newsday and its par-4 11th hole is a member of the newspaper's "Dream 18."
