St. Patrick’s Day Shotgun at Cherry Creek’s Links Course

The Links at Cherry Creek, home of Long Island's only par-6, will host a St. Patrick's Day Shotgun next weekend on the holiday morning.  Opening drives will go up bright and early and fresh pints will go down later in the afternoon.

019Registration is $69 per player, which covers a pre-round continental breakfast plus a post-round holiday feast of corned beef, cabbage and two hours of drinks.  Prizes will be handed out for longest drive and closest to the pin.  Shotgun start is scheduled for 9 a.m.  Sign up at the Cherry Creek pro shop or call (631) 369-6500.

At 7,187 yards, Cherry Creek Links is the longest public course on Long Island that's not named Bethpage Black.  It fittingly concludes with a 644-yard, par-6 18th that has been featured by Golfing Magazine and Newsday.  For more on Cherry Creek Links, check out the course flyover.
