Free Sunday clinics at Tallgrass this summer

Practice makes perfect, so you can only imagine what free practice led by professionals can create.  A simple way to find out is by visiting Shoreham this summer and taking part in one or more of the weekend clinics run by the staff at the Tallgrass Golf Course.

IMG_1931Every Sunday through August, Tallgrass pro Phil Tita and his staff will hold free player-development clinics from noon to 1 p.m.  As in years past, each clinic includes a demonstration and mini-lesson.  Sessions rotate each week and cover iron play, chipping, putting, woods and sand play.  All you pay for is a bucket of balls.

Call the course at (631) 209-9359 for more details on the Sunday programs or a full clinic schedule.

Tallgrass received its third consecutive top-10 ranking by Golfweek in the magazine's 2012 Best Courses You Can Play listing released in March.  Earlier this year, Tallgrass architect Gil Hanse was selected to design the 2016 Olympic golf course in Rio de Janeiro, winning out over competing designs by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, among others.
