Bethpage is still three weeks away from hosting a competitive golf shot at The Barclays — which begins on Thursday, August 23 — but local players are running low on time to enjoy midsummer golf at the park.
The Black Course, already operating on a limited schedule, will close for final tournament preparations this Monday, August 6. It will reopen for public play on September 1.
The park's other four courses will remain open until Friday, August 17. After that, the Red, Blue, Green and Yellow will shut down and begin to welcome FedEx Cup competitors and spectators. The courses will reopen on Thursday, August 30.
Before it reopens at the end of the month, the Blue Course will be aerated on August 28 and 29.
