St. Jude Roman Catholic Church of Mastic Beach will once again hold its annual golf outing at Rock Hill Golf and Country Club in Manorville on Wednesday, May 7. Each year the church gathers golfers to help support St. Jude's parish outreach program.
The event begins with a buffet breakfast and concludes with a buffet dinner and open bar. In between, participants will play 18 holes on Rock Hill's lengthy layout, with lunch at the turn and on-course refreshments. The $175 entry fee covers all golf, food and range balls. There will also be a putting competition and several hole contests during the round. Format for the event is team scramble.
Shotgun start is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Registration and breakfast begin at 8:00. Golfers, sponsors and dinner-only guests ($45) can register for the outing at stjudegolf.org.
At 7,050 yards from the tips, Rock Hill is one of Long Island's longest golf courses. Heavy rough makes it play even longer. For more on the Manorville course, check out the Rock Hill flyover.
