Pine Ridge to host local leg of “World’s Largest Golf Outing” on August 1

The sixth annual "World's Largest Golf Outing" is scheduled for Monday, August 1 at more than a hundred golf courses across the country, from as far east as Long Island's very own Pine Ridge Golf Club and west all the way to Hawaii.   Run by Billy Casper Golf, the event gives golfers the opportunity to play and help raise money for American servicemen and women.  This year's event will benefit the Fisher House Foundation.

IMG_1621Pine Ridge's leg of the golf outing will include separate morning (8:00) and afternoon (2:00) start times.  Entry fee is $75 per player, with $10 from each registration — plus all additional donations — going to the Fisher House Foundation.  The fee covers cart, range balls, lunch, an awards reception and some golf-related parting gifts.  Format for the tournament is four-person scramble.

Register for the event by visiting the World's Largest Golf Outing website.  You can also sponsor a team or make an online donation.

Since its initial event in 2011, Billy Casper Golf has raised more than $3 million for various causes, including the Wounded Warrior Project, through the World's Largest Golf Outing.  The 2015 Outing raised over $1 million on its own.  This year's charity, the Fisher House Foundation, is a non-profit organization that provides comfort homes for military and veteran family members at no cost while their loved ones receive medical treatment.
