The Kelley Brooke local golf empire is expanding once again, this time into the golf-rich center of Suffolk County.
Pine Ridge Golf Club in Coram is now a Brooke Management Group facility, the sixth in a growing golf-operations portfolio that includes Bethpage State Park, Montauk Downs and Harbor Links. Brooke, a 2026-27 LPGA Top 50 Teacher and the CEO and president of Brooke Management Group, says the acquisition will include a multiphase project to transform the 20-year-old course, its clubhouse and the surrounding amenities.
“Our vision is to create a modern golf environment that blends the feel of an upscale private club with the accessibility and energy of public golf,” Brooke says. “We want Pine Ridge to become a place where golfers can play, practice, learn, socialize and truly feel part of something special.”
Brooke completed the acquisition last week and released an updated Pine Ridge logo, along with several renderings of course, range and interior upgrades.
Pine Ridge, one of Long Island’s newer public courses, was built in 2006 in former Coram pine forest. It features a 6,600-yard layout designed by Ron Forse, with sandy waste areas and fairways wrapped in dense pines. The isolated nature of each hole gives the course a more tranquil feel than most other publics on the Island. In recent seasons, however, the course has been heavily criticized by local players for damaged turf and neglected conditions.
Brooke’s planned enhancements include “Pinehurst-style” waste bunkering around the course and improved irrigation. Like at Montauk Downs, Harbor Links and most recently Bethpage, Brooke plans to revamp the driving range with modern shot-tracking technology and food service. Instructional camps, clinics and adult programs under the “Golf Channel Academy with Kelley Brooke” banner will launch in 2027.
Unique to Pine Ridge is a Founding Membership Program that will offer preferred pricing, exclusive benefits and priority access to participants.
“Our goal is always the same,” Brooke says. “To elevate public golf while making the sport welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
A fixture of the Metropolitan New York golf scene for more than 30 years, Brooke took over instruction and pro-shop operations at Bethpage in 2018 and was a prominent representative of the facility ahead of last September’s Ryder Cup. After winning a New York State bid to operate Montauk Downs, Brooke Management added two Hempstead Town municipal courses, Merrick Road Park and Lido, in 2024. The following winter, Brooke began a 20-year agreement with the Town of North Hempstead to run Harbor Links in Port Washington.
At Merrick and Harbor Links, Brooke rebranded the courses and expanded marketing efforts, including new logos and reimagined hospitality offerings. Harbor Links became the first golf course in the country to introduce robot food servers on the course and driving range. In Brooke’s first season, Harbor Links overhauled its event space, renovated the clubhouse and grill room, and opened an outdoor beer garden.
Earlier this spring, Bethpage added Inrange technology and completed a long-awaited range renovation that allows players to hit drivers for the first time at the practice facility. Montauk Downs and Harbor Links added Inrange last year as part of Brooke’s suite of upgrades.
