It's hard to resist — you get a few 60-degree days in late February and instincts tell you to start looking ahead to the spring golf season. On a warm President's Day Sunday, the parking lot at Lido was full. Winter golfers don't waste time taking advantage of playable conditions.
Soon enough, Long Island's seasonal golf courses will start shaking off the frost and reopening tees, fairways and greens. The ball starts rolling in early March, and within a month, Long Island golf is usually up to full speed.
The following is a list of tentative 2017 opening dates for Long Island's seasonal golf courses. (Year-round courses reopen as soon as weather allows and are not included in this list.) Opening dates range from the middle of March through the first half of April. Courses will be added or updated as information becomes available. Be sure to check back through February and March for the latest info.
