After a brief stoppage in the early winter golf season — courtesy of eight inches of snow in most parts — the short-term golf outlook is clear once again. There are some playable January days ahead.
Golf On Long Island loves winter golf, and you should too, if only for the chance to play quality courses with limited crowds for a discount price. Below is a sampling of offseason 18-hole rates at area courses. For full details about rates and course conditions, contact the course pro shops or visit their websites. Note that these do not represent discounted rates at all courses.

- Pine Ridge: $49 with cart before 12 noon on weekdays, $45 after; $59/$49 on weekends; further discounts available for seniors, community residents and loyalty card holders
- Swan Lake: $48 to ride/$37 to walk on weekdays, $58 to ride/$47 to walk on weekends, with $7 food voucher included; twilight rates available after 12 noon
- Stonebridge: $49 before noon, $39 after on weekdays; $59 before noon, $39 after on weekends (all rates include cart)
