Brentwood Country Club and Holbrook Country Club are offering special rates through the end of May.
Resident and non-resident golfers can ride anytime after 11 a.m. for $42 at either of the Town of Islip municipal courses (all fees included). The May special is valid at Brentwood Tuesday through Sunday, and at Holbrook Wednesday through Monday. Each course is closed one day a week for outings.
Special walking rates are $24 after 12 noon and $20 after 2 p.m.
Brentwood CC is a Devereux Emmet design that is flat, open and enjoyable for walkers and beginners. A stretch of short par-4s on the back nine make it a good course for scoring low. Holbrook CC is a tougher test thanks to uncomfortably narrow fairways. Tall pines overshadow all playing areas.
