All Bethpage greens expected to be open by the end of the month

Bethpage State Park suffered a significant amount of turf damage from the winter of 2015, with temporary greens still in use on all five golf courses heading into Memorial Day weekend.  Fortunately all lingering effects are expected to be gone by the end of the month.

The Blue, Green and Yellow courses are scheduled to return to full capacity tomorrow, May 23.

Over on the Black Course, temporary greens have been in use on much of the back nine so far this spring (specifically holes 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 9, according to sources).  On May 23, all but three of those holes will reopen with regular greens.  The Black is scheduled to reopen all greens on Friday, May 29.

The Red Course has dealt with turf issues as well, including full closure of the par-3 fourth hole.  A U.S. Open qualifier held on the Red earlier this month was reduced to 17 holes with #4 out of play.  The course is expected to be fully open on Tuesday, May 26.
