Sign-up ends tomorrow for Town of Hempstead’s Supervisor’s Cup Golf Classic at Lido

The seventh annual Supervisor's Cup Golf Classic will tee off at the Lido Golf Club on Wednesday, October 15.  Town of Hempstead residents have until tomorrow, September 17, to sign up for the tournament.

IMG_2936Hosted by Kate Murray and the Town of Hempstead's Department of Parks and Recreation, the Supervisor's Cup is open to all town residents but limited to 144 golfers determined by lottery.  Registered names will be drawn at the Merrick Road Park Golf Course on Tuesday, September 23.  Twenty alternates will also be selected.  Entry fee for lottery winners is $15.  (There is no cost to apply.)  Rain date for the event is Wednesday, October 22.

Participating golfers will receive range balls, motor cart, continental breakfast, barbecue lunch, prizes and refreshments in addition to 18 holes at one of Nassau County's most popular courses.  Group photos will be taken at 9:00 a.m., followed by a 10:00 shotgun start.  Format for the event is four-person scramble.  Awards will be given out for longest drives, accurate drives and closest to the pin.  The winning foursome will receive the Supervisor's Cup.  

Download and print an application by visiting the Town of Hempstead website.  Completed applications must be faxed to (516) 292-6024 or mailed to the Parks Department and postmarked by September 17.  Applications can also be dropped off in person prior to the deadline.
