America turns 237 years of age next week, and Spring Lake Golf Club has plans to start the party a day early with a "Stars & Stripes Shotgun" teeing off at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3.
For $59, golfers can play 18 at the Middle Island facility and celebrate the nation's independence by launching bombs bursting in air off the tee (or rocketing a red(-faced) glare when they blast off a tree). Cart and range balls are included, and a buffet dinner follows at 7 p.m.
