Make Wading River a destination this Father's Day, June 16. Not only is the on-site Blackwells Pub at Great Rock Golf Club serving up Dad's favorite meal — cold beer and thick steak — but the course itself will host a two-person holiday scramble starting at 1 p.m. The event includes refreshments on the course plus post-golf cocktails and snacks for just $50.
All through June, book a foursome at Great Rock for $220 — $55 per player — Monday to Friday. That's a $14 per-player savings for rounds played before noon.
As for Blackwells, the Zagat-rated restaurant at Great Rock is now serving a pub-style menu to go along with its 14 beers on tap. Long Island breweries — Great South Bay, Long Ireland and Blue Point, at the moment — are featured among the dozen craft beers available.
