Cherry Creek has holiday plans for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day weekend, and luckily for Long Island golfers those plans involve offering a combination of discount golf, Irish-themed edibles and local ales.
Drop by the Riverhead facility on Saturday or Sunday, March 16-17, and walk the Links Course for $40 or ride for $50, then stick around for a while with a plate of corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips or a reuben. Food is $10 and includes a beer or unlimited soda. Riverhead's own Long Ireland Celtic Ale, a fitting holiday choice, is $4; Buds and Bud Lights are $3.
The Links Course is the home of Long Island's only par-6. For more on the Links and its 644-yard closing hole, check out the course flyover.
Across the street, Cherry Creek's Woods Course is tentatively scheduled to reopen for the 2013 season on or around March 18.
