Wind Watch Golf & Country Club in Hauppauge will host Winthrop University Hospital's eighth annual Cancer Center for Kids Golf Outing on Monday, June 18. Past outings have raised nearly $50,000 for vital pediatric cancer services at the Mineola hospital.
Foursomes and individual players can register online at the Winthrop University Hospital website. Entry fee is $350 per golfer or $1,300 per foursome, which includes 18 holes, pre- and post-round food and drinks and other activities. Interested players, sponsors and donors should visit the Winthrop website to register or call (516) 663-3398 for additional information.
Wind Watch is a picturesque yet hazardous layout that totals nearly 80 bunkers in addition to water on a dozen holes. The 6,650-yard par-72 was originally designed in 1990 by Joe Lee and overhauled in 1996 by renowned architect Stephen Kay. For more on the course, check out the Wind Watch flyover.
