Junior golfers from ages 9 to 18 can take their game to Long Island tournaments and possibly the national stage in Orlando as part of the 2012 USSSA Junior Golf Championship Tour, operated locally by the Global Recreation Network.  The first competition is scheduled for April 28-29, and registration is currently open for three different age groups.

GRN logoGlobal Recreation will hold a series of qualifying tournaments at Long Island courses this spring and summer, with all winners receiving a berth in the Junior Golf Championship later this summer at Mystic Dunes Golf Club in Orlando.  "We launched USSSA Junior Golf last season, and it's our goal to send as many boys and girls to the USSSA Championship as possible," says Global Recreation president and CEO Ray Coyne.

The first 2012 event will be held at Mill Pond Golf Course on April 28-29.  Players can register in three age groups: 9-11, 12-14 and 15-18.  Entry fee is $140 for the 12-14 and 15-18 age groups (36-hole event) and $85 for the 9-11 group (18-hole event).  All players receive a USSSA wind shirt.

The next qualifier is scheduled for May 19-20 at the Smithtown Landing Country Club.  Same prices and age groups apply.
