The way Golfing Magazine sees it, it's never too early to start planning next season's tee times.
If you're a golfer who shares that opinion, then get on board Golfing Magazine's 2012 Free Golf Program by signing up for the mag's Early Bird Special. For $39 you get a certificate good for "free" rounds at nearly a dozen area courses. Only cart fees are required. Participating courses will be announced in the spring.
That doesn't mean it's time to put the 2011 certificates away. Members of the 2011 program can play for free at all participating courses — Brentwood CC, Dix Hills Park, Glen Cove, Great Rock, Gull Haven, Harbor Links, Heatherwood, Holbrook CC, Island's End and Pine Hills — until the certificate expires on December 31.
