Golf as a Father's Day gift is always welcome (unless it's a bag of tees), especially when you and Dad can take a day off from work to enjoy it. The Mill Pond Golf Course in Medford is putting on a Friday Before Father's Day Shotgun outing on June 17 that includes two of Dad's favorite things — golf and BBQ.
The outing begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Start the day with breakfast and range balls before competing for team and individual prizes in a modified scramble. Entry fee is $95 per player and includes cart, practice balls, breakfast, lunch and potential prizes for low scores and on-course contests. As a bonus, the golf day doesn't end after the 18th hole — the U.S. Open will be in full swing from Congressional when the event lets out in the afternoon.
To register, call Mill Pond at (631) 732-8249 or download a registration form from the course website. Deadline to register is Friday, June 10.
