Lido Golf Club in Lido Beach will start the morning with shotgun starts on Thursday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 24 at 7:30 and 7:45 a.m., respectively. All public golfers are invited to reserve a spot and will be charged based on residency. Complimentary lunch will be provided.
The course will be closed after the conclusion of the round on May 19, but will remain open for play in the afternoon on May 24. Visit the Lido website for information on future shotgun starts and course events.
The waterside 18-hole course in Lido Beach sits between Reynolds Channel and the Atlantic Ocean, making wind a major factor. Players must contend with the channel and a series of ponds and inlets throughout most of the back nine. The course is a considered a "must-play" by Newsday, and its double-carry 16th hole is part of Newsday's Long Island Dream 18, Golfing Magazine's Dream Golf Club and Golf On Long Island's "Nassau 18."
