We're nearly a month deep into 2009, but so far the new year has not been kind to those looking to play some cold-weather golf. A frozen sheet of snow has kept the fairways and greens under wraps and it doesn't appear to be letting go anytime soon.
In the event a good golf day emerges in the near future, many courses are offering reasonable winter rates. Golf at this time of year scarcely resembles the sport played during peak season, but for the die-hards, temporary greens and giant mud puddles don't really matter.
The
following are some of the offseason 18-hole rates at area courses, which have already been in place for several weeks or
months. For
full details, contact the course pro shops or visit their websites.
Also be sure to call ahead regarding temporary tees and greens, as
this information is rarely posted on course websites. Note that these do not represent discounted rates at all courses!
